Frazzled

Holy crap, this is me! I don't smoke, so insert chocolate bar, and I'm not on Prozac but I'm willing to give it a shot! lol!

I'm utterly frazzled and do apologize for being AWOL for a bit. What's up with me...let's see. Hubby was ill for three weeks with H1N1...yeah, HUGE pain in the ass. But he was really sick, and didn't really bug the hell out of me like he usually does when he's sick. Guess he was really too ill to whine. Now that he's on the mend, he's being a PITA (pain in the ass)!

I received page proofs today for Velvet Haven, with a return date of....today. yeah, well, that's not happening. I just finished up page proofs for Sinful. I'm supposed to be thinking of book 2 in the Immortals of Annwyn series, while waiting not so patiently to hear about a historical proposal that has gone to acquisitions at HQN. yeah...well, that's not going so well, the waiting and the creativity. Doesn't really mix. To top it all off, my tween decided to alter her personality this past week, and is now an obnoxious twit..... I've considered holing up in the bathroom, but there's an obscene amount of laundry overflowing from the hamper. So, I decided to moan and groan to you guys instead!

Phew...okay, rant done. So, what's everyone up to? And could someone recommend a really good read to me. Only stipulation...gotta be hussy approved. Anything else, and I'm open.

  1. (((HUGS))) Sophie! Man, sounds like you got hit with it all at once. It definitely doesn't inspire creativity to have a PITA husband and an obnoxious tween. Yikes!

Hmmm...some good hussy aproved romance material that you haven't already read...Well anything by Lora Leigh especially MERCURY'S WAR and WILD CARD. Both uber hot and awesome reads. THROUGH THE VEIL by Shiloh Walker is really hot plus it's a really good fantasy read. I'm so excited that she's coming out with a sequel! And for a good contemp, TEMPT ME TONIGHT by Toni Blake.

    Happy Hussy Reading!

    Hugs, VFG

  2. Oh Charlotte (((super duper hugs))) I can so relate to the PITA and the obnoxious tween... expect that she is full teen and every once in a while... a super witch with a b in front... Whew! Girl.. sounds like you need a Good night out with some chocolate and friends... for laughter and to help eat all the chocolate! Come over to my house!! Me and a couple of online friends are meeting up, lol, we have been ranting to each other all day long, lmao!! So glad to have friends like you guys!! lol!

Now for hussy approved reading material... Graceful Submission by Melinda Barron comes to mind. That was a very hot book! Very hussified! Blood Magic by Jennifer Lyon!! Yum!
    Re-read Reyes story... ohhh...

I hope all goes well in your house this weekend Charlotte and just remember - breathe in, breathe out **think of a river of chocolate** breathe in, breathe out.... Now take some "me" time and the creativity will flow!!

  3. Hi Charlotte, glad to hear you dh is better, and your tween will get better too (it may take several more years, but hey: time flies!) and I certainly hope you're feeling better soon too. How about some spa treatments? You can fit in some reading by Joey W Hill while you're at it! My favs are Witch's Beauty and Ice Queen/Mirror Of My Soul. Not for the fainthearted (in many ways), and beautifully satisfying reads.... take care!

  4. Oh no! Here's hoping that it all gets better soon. Channel some Airplane and just say to yourself, "Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue."

As for books, I haven't been reading any winners lately. UNfortunately. Wish I could recommend something totally hot to you.

  6. I have the cure for you! Just got done reading All Jacked Up by Lorelei James and absolutely loved it. It was a 5 star read for me. It had everything that I love about romance novels.

Best part, you can buy it online and have it to read ASAP. It's an ebook, and they don't tend to be quite a long as others so you can sit back and enjoy without feeling guilty about not getting everything else done.

    Read it, I don't think you'll be disappointed...honest!
