My New Baby...

For years now, I've wanted an English Springer Spaniel, and this weekend, we went to a breeder and had a peek at some one week old puppies. Well, guess who is getting one???? lol! Well, I knew I was going to get one, the visit was merely a formality!

So, my husband and I are leaning towards the liver and white colored one (in the middle) She's a she, and my daughter picked the name Bella for her. Which I find very interesting because my daughter's middle name is Isabella, and I frequently call her Bella, and her dad calls her Belle. However, I think the name choice might be part of the Twilight Craze she's currently ODing in! lol!

So, this is little Bella, and she'll be coming home in May, right smack in the middle of deadline hell! (What can I say, I'm an overachiever!)

So, what'd you guys do this weekend?

  1. OMGosh!! She's adorable!!!! I love the name, too.

*sniffles* My puppy (a toy daschund) is two now, but I remember when he was just that tiny. I also bought him from a breeder. He was in a litter of three, his two sisters were black and tan (gorgeous) and there was little Copper. The red hotdog runt of the litter getting picked on by his two sisters.

I had to have him, lol.

That first night at home he was crying. I guess he was just lonely missed his mom, so I snuck into the kitchen and I laid down on the couch with him. He slept on my chest without moving ALL night. From that day on Copper is ALWAYS at my side. He'll follow me anywhere I go. He's also great with my kids, but believe it or not, he's not a fan of my husband. I love my pup.

Okay, that was a long story...sigh, lol.

Anyhow, this weekend was chaos!! I didn't have a minute to breath. Between visiting inlaws and so on...Hopefully it's back to normal now.

  2. Aww, Barbara, that's so cute. We have a four year old Golden Retriever. He's a gorgeous dog, and really quite big, nearly 100 pounds. My husband calls him my boyfriend because he follows me around everyone, even lays outside the bathroom door when I go in. It's funny, because he was supposed to be my husband's dog! lol! I wonder if Bella will turn out to be his girlfriend! lol!!!!

One thing I'm not looking forward to is hearing the crying at night, but I'm thinking our golden will take care of her. They'll probably sleep together, or at least one can hope. I'll post more pics as she grows!!!!

  3. What a bunch of cuties!!! How exciting! Puppies are so much work but they're so worth it. How can you resist them?!? My dog certainly isn't a puppy and I rescued her so I don't know what she looked like but she can still make puppy eyes at me like no other. She know I'm not immune. :)

    Good Luck with Bella!

    :) VFG

  4. Oooh, puppy dog eye! they make me melt. My dog still gives me those, and I'd give him anything when he does.

What kind of dog do you have VFG?

I'm all excited now, it may be a different tune when I have a puppy, a dog who is likely going to have his nose out of joint, and Sinful and Velvet Haven to deliver by June 1. If I wasn't insane before, I will be then! lol!

  5. Well, she's a mix. Little bit of wiener dog, a lot of beagal and maybe some basset hound. Dakota has a nose like no other. She can find you anywhere! You can hear her sniffing you out. But despite the mixed breeding, she has the sweetest face and she's such a snuggler. Oh, and she's a real hussy for my husband and his buddies. She's got a thing for men. :) My kinda gal!

LOL, yup you'll have your hands full. But they're so worth it.

My husband and I really lucked out with Kota. She's was abandoned by some transients by my riding stables. Yeah, some assholes dumped her off in the pouring rain! Still pisses me off. Anyway, we've been wanting a puppy but we both work nine hour shifts, so a puppy was out of the question. When Kota bonded with me, I couldn't say no and just hoped that she was potty trained and she was! She's the best and it feels like we finally have our own little family.

It's fun to have our own little happy ending. :)

  6. That's awesome, and I love to hear you took her in! I can't stand people who feel that animals are disposable. No on listens to my rants more than my dog, and when I'm done he lays at my feet and licks my toes~now that's unconditional love!

I love that she's a hussy! Good for her! lol!
